The Wellness Tool You're Missing
The BodyTalk System is the best-kept secret to wellness you've never heard of.
About six months ago, I stumbled upon a post on Facebook about this strange modality called BodyTalk. The author claimed she broke through emotional issues impacting her gut and digestion for decades in a single week. I needed to know more.
I found a practitioner, conveniently located a block from work, and after my first session I was hooked. BodyTalk is a relaxing hour of anatomy meets quantum physics meets talk therapy. I left each session feeling lighter, more grounded, and empowered as my buried emotions were brought to the surface.

Lying on a table, fulling clothed, the practitioner pulls on your arm while you stare at the ceiling wondering how you wound up in this situation. Suddenly, she brings up your phobia of people touching your hair. You gush about the rage that takes over when your hair is pulled or head is patted, and your intense fear of having a stranger or friend cut or style your hair. She brings up an active memory of a party in the first grade. Then it hits you: you got lice at some girl's seventh birthday. The awareness floods your body and mind, the practitioner taps on parts of the body, and the phobia dissipates. You feel ridiculous, but secretly know something has changed.
Developed by an acupuncturist and chiropractor, Bodytalk therapy uses muscle testing to find the body's priorities for healing. It can reveal stuck emotions, miscommunications between organ systems, or explain and release fears, phobias, or strange behaviors. It can help unlock the body's innate ability of self-healing.

It sounds totally crazy, until it doesn't. Our bodies, like everything, are energy assimilated as billions of cells. Energy can travel from one person's cells to another, resulting in muscle testing. The brain brings awareness to body parts and intentions with physical touch, so we hold affected body parts as the practitioner taps. Taping on meridians, chakras, area's of the body with high energy and awareness helps move stuck energy, or bring in good vibes. Still too woo-woo? Even if you're a nonbeliever of quantum physics, it still feels pretty great lying on a table for an hour confronting your weird ticks, phobias, and limiting beliefs.
In a matter of months, BodyTalk has changed my life. Physically, I'm stronger, my anxiety is lower, my sleep is deeper, and I am the most grounded I've been in my adult life.
If BodyTalk is so great, why is a secret?
There is nothing sexy about BodyTalk. It's not trendy like Shamanism. It involves too much detailed anatomy to be as mystical as crystal healing. It was developed in the nineties, and its marketing is dated. It's incredibly amazing but nearly impossible to explain.
But think of it this way...
Our lives are a series of stories--births, deaths, broken bones, first dates, and pet goldfish. But what about the stories that happen inside our bodies? We never consider the stories we can't see--underproduction of hormones, miscommunication between organ systems, good microbes that stop helping us as bad microbe take over. We are just a series of stories, and if there a tool to help us unlock, evaluate, and process those stories for better living, what's not to love?
Currently, I'm working toward my practitioner certification, and I need clients! So if you're interested in a short free session, either in person or remote, let me know in the comments or via email!
